This makes the job of an AI that much simpler. The Facebook team believes that even if their AI system fails at some tasks, it can still be useful. They say that they believe that we can make progress towards a system that is useful without needing to be able complete every request.
However, it's not easy. Understanding ordinary language is one of the challenges. The Facebook team imagines this scenario:

This seemingly simple task requires a remarkable degree of knowledge. The person who assists needs to comprehend the concept of a tower and how to build it. They must also be aware that 15 blocks are an estimation of the tower's height and what "15" signifies. They must also be aware of the concept of smiley and know how to build it, and what it means to place it on the top.
However the possibilities for an AI to learn are endless. If Facebook can get enough human assistance it could ask humans to assist it in learning.
And Facebook is taking on the task of creating the AI to self-improve. FREE FORUMS One of the most common critiques of AI systems is their inability to learn new tasks that go beyond what they've been taught and for which data was collected and processed. However, the researchers believe that the Minecraft environment is a great one to develop this type of learning.
That's interesting work that outlines an ambitious goal for Facebook. Of course, it is still in the early stages. The team describes the project as a "call to arms."
