Minecraft film'set to hit silver screen'

The block-building game Minecraft is extremely popular, could soon be turned into a film.
Minecraft creator Markus Persson revealed this week that the game's creator was in talks with Warner Brothers about the project.
Mr Persson said he revealed the details to deter another person who was trying to divulge details about the transaction.
Movie news site Deadline said that one of the producers for the Lego Movie is in charge of the project.
Warner was planning to transform a "live action" version of the game into a feature film the company told Deadline.

The film is in its early stages as Warner has recently acquired the rights for Minecraft's iconic characters blocks, monsters, and blocks.
The announcement is less than two weeks after Minecraft creator Mojang decided to shut down the Kickstarter project to raise money for a film based on the game.
Hollywood has a history of remaking best-selling games for film. Many projects do not make it to the stage of production.
A film set in the science-fictional Halo universe, for instance, has been under development for nearly nine years, but filming has yet start despite several different scripts being written.
Similar films based on Bioshock and Gears of War have been discussed but no film has started shooting.
World of Warcraft is a game that is being made into a movie. Filming began in January with Duncan Jones, a British director. The film is scheduled to be released in early 2016.
