SLA is a simple game that is a tribute to the first classic survival video games such as silent hill and resident evil. It is a top down view, pixel, art, survival shooter with small melee skills and the limited amount of items that can be used to explore across the globe.


It's a sci-fi only single player narrative experience with a storyline that drives the drama home with a variety of melee weapons with weak ranges, forcing the battle to take place at weapons length like pistols and shotguns.

Game worlds are all interconnected spaces where you can search for keys or other items that aid in the puzzles by joining items into safe rooms allowing you to have the tools you require for survival.

There will be enemies to fight that can be pushed when there is no ammunition in the shotguns or pistols found throughout the game world as you attempt to comprehend the reason and purpose behind doing what you're doing in this mysterious planet.

The game begins simple and easy, but you'll find that the difficulty gets more difficult when the gameplay progresses, epically, towards the end, with enemies that will revive, emerge from vents and floors, and more, and simple, straightforward, and thrilling boss fights in a claustrophobic environment.

I'd suggest that it is not the games fault per say however, if you advance in the game considerably, let's say about two or three hours into and then you stop for a few days coming back to the game can be a challenge because the game does not provide you with the information you're supposed to do next and with the map being difficult to comprehend, beginners may be put off initially however, if you follow the guides and strengthen your brain muscles, trust me, the pain is worth it.

The version of the enemy is a bit limited for me however, it was created by two people, and I am able to accept it since what's available is mostly simple, classical and effective survival horror enemy game design.

Story
The game's story takes place in a dystopian world, told in a manner that makes you contemplate the end and meaning of the story, rather than simply completing the game and be told what the story means. You are meant to ponder it.

Personally, I found the narrative mechanics of female workers as well as the representation of female and male workers through the machines of a communist work environment interesting.

I'm not going to go into the details in order to keep from spoilers I'll just say that it is not an easy tale to comprehend, and you are left to determine the story, based on my personal opinion the meaning of the story, for it is not founded on logic or facts as such.

Graphics/Performance
In terms of graphics and performance, Signalis the game, I won't be conducting a thorough review because it is a good game and looks great due to its unique style of art. It's fast and flawless on every device you can play it on, and I truly hope it is brought to mobile like iPhone and Android soon.

I would recommend watching it on an OLED Tv or Monitor because it's stunning.

As it was created by two people, I think the sound design is quite simple but extremely effective in creating a claustrophobic adrenaline rush and a calmness that makes the entire experience an adrenaline-pumping rollercoaster of fear and terror.

Achievements/Fan Service
On the achievements side, the game is actually easy to get all the achievements and according to trueachievements.com, you can get them all with an 8 to 10 hours. You can even finish it faster if you want to speed run it.

On the fan service side to things , the anime Japanese inspired characters have cute gorgeous eyes, beautiful eyes, and the feminine image is depicted in the art style and it is aesthetically pleasing and satisfying. Thus, I rate it a thumbs up man of the culture. If you feel it's not enough, I'm going to recommend that you go and play in the grass right now. Stop the video and walk away.

To end, I'll say that this is one of the survival horror games that will go down in history as a straightforward yet really high-quality Indie developer. The game is a success story that I think every fan of survival horror. Specially, classical style, resident, evil, and Silent Hill titles needs to try it out and play.

I don't usually replay all of my single player games completely, so I'm not aiming for the extra endings, but I'm happy and proud to have had the opportunity to experience this extraordinary journey by the publisher of the rose engine.
