Minecraft: Education Edition is free to try out, and subscriptions can be purchased by qualified educational institutions directly in the Microsoft Admin Center by IT Admins, via volume licensing agreements and through partner resellers.

Minecraft Education Edition is available for anyone to try for free! The trial trial is fully functional, but there is limitations on the number of logins (10 for students and 25 for teachers) that can be played before you need to purchase a paid license to continue playing.

Purchase Minecraft Education Edition for Teachers and Students
As an educator, you will need to have your IT Admin purchase licenses for you and your students through the Microsoft Admin Center, or you might already have access licenses at your school (through the volume license agreement) in the case of an Office 365 subscription.
M:EE is included with many volume license agreements. However, only administrators at your school can manage and assign these licenses. If you have an Office 365 account, check with your school administration or IT administrator prior to purchasing M.E. directly.
