Minecraft Gets Twitch-y with the new Partnership For Integrated Streaming

Twitch and Mojang have partnered to deliver an integrated streaming experience for the indie game Minecraft The two companies announced this partnership at MineCon today. According to an announcement in the press that was released, players who play Minecraft on PC and Mac will soon be able to stream their games to their Twitch.tv channels.



Matthew DiPietro, vice president of marketing at Twitch said in the same press release that Minecraft has "struck an extremely powerful chord" with Twitch users. While this announcement is for PC and Mac users It's important to know that the Xbox One will be getting its own version of Minecraft and Twitch is integrated into Microsoft's next-gen system. Twitch Announces Minecraft Partnership at MINECON 2013



Mojang's Minecraft PC and MAC users will soon be able to broadcast their games on Twitch with a click of a button



SAN FRANCISCO - November 2, 2013, Twitch the world's most popular video platform and a community for gamers announced today at the sold-out MineCon convention an agreement of partnership with Mojang to provide broadcasting functionality for Minecraft. The integration of Twitch into the PC and MAC versions of the top selling game enables gamers to easily broadcast directly to their Twitch channels. Soon, Twitch functionality is available.



Mojang launched Minecraft on May 17 2009. Since the time, it has become the most popular PC Sandbox adventure game with more than 13 million units in sales on PC with more than 33 million units in sales across all platforms. It has also been the recipient of a number of prestigious awards including five Game Developers Choice Awards at the 2011 Game Developers Conference. MINECON 2013, Mojang's annual Minecraft convention, was a huge success. More than 7,500 attendees were there eagerly awaiting the next step in one of the most innovative games of all time and to meet the team behind it.



Twitch has seen the game's popularity soar and Twitch's Top 20 Games page displaying it every month. This has been the case since Twitch was launched in the year 2011.
