Minecraft film'set to hit silver screen'

Hugely popular block-building game Minecraft could soon be turned into a film.
Minecraft creator Markus Persson revealed this week that the game's maker was talking to Warner Brothers about the project.
Mr Persson said he revealed the news to thwart an individual who tried to leaked information about the deal.

Movie news site Deadline said that one of the producers of the Lego Movie is in charge of the project.
Deadline reported that Warner was looking to make a film from a "live-action" version.
The film is still in its early stages, as Warner has recently acquired the rights to Minecraft's iconic characters monsters, blocks, and blocks.
This news comes just two months after Mojang, Minecraft creator, has shut down a Kickstarter campaign to raise money to create a film that was based on the game.
Film adaptations of top-selling games have a rocky history in Hollywood and many projects never make it past the initial planning stage.
A film set in the science-fictional Halo universe, for instance, has been under development for nine years but filming has not yet start despite several different scripts being written.
Similar films based on Bioshock and Gears of War have been discussed, but no film has yet started filming.
World of Warcraft is a game that is being made into a movie. Filming began in January with Duncan Jones, a British director. The film will be released in the first quarter of 2016.
