Describe: You can recognize it is Marilyn Monroe and the painting has many colours such as yellow,pink,green and cyan in the background.The artwork has a lot of warm colours.The texture are very glossy and smooth, the tones are very vivid as it is to build the charactistics of marilyn diptych.
Analyse: The artist use assembly-line technique of silk-screening photographic images onto a canvas by screening broad planes of modulated color, the artist removes the gradual shading that creates a sense of three-dimensional volume and suspends the actress in an abstract void. The artwork has some really vibrant colours such as red,blue and yellow.
Interpret: In this artwork,the author had use pink as her skin tone instead of a normal skin tone colour and her lipstick has an very bright red colour which is what really catch your attention and the most important part is the meaning behind it.Another meaning is to illustrate the contrast between the public life of the star, who at the time was one of the famous women alive, and her private self
Judgement: Yes, I do like the artwork. It is because I feel that the artwork has a flat,graphic quality similar to that found in media and advertising is what really impressed us. I think we can improve by adding more details like colours to emphasise her face to make it more realistic.
