You've likely been curious about Bad Omens merch if you're a fan. Despite being one of the most unsavory bands in the world they have managed to produce some amazing albums and a few really entertaining shows. They have had to sell lots of merchandise to make ends met. It can also be a tricky business as the venue takes a cut on every sale and bands have very few options to make a living.
The venues take a cut from bar sales
Bad Omens, a metalcore band, is the latest to join the party. Bad Omens is not the only band to join the fight against concert venues taking a large cut of their merchandise sales.
A band may not make much from the concert venue's fees, but they can provide many services or goods in return. A specialty cocktail menu is one example of such a goodie. The menu also includes a drink called "Limits" and a cocktail called "Y'all Wild". This menu should not be confused with a fancy list of wines.
Another interesting fact is that venues often take 20% of bands' gross merchandise sales. This is not the best way of socking a band. It's also a bummer that the small print isn't readily visible. The aforementioned cocktail menu is a novelty item that can be expensive, but it's not impossible for a band or fan to pay for the privilege to enjoy such delicious beverages. This revenue can be used by a band to offset rent or food expenses. Even though larger venues take this large sum, it is not restricted to the US.
Bands don’t make a lot of money.
A venue may take a cut of merch sales from a band. These venues often rename cocktails after bands, such as the Bad Omens riff on the whiskey martini.
Bad Omens Totebags of a recent tour by the metalcore group prompted discussion. Although the band gained a lot of attention for their debut album, it didn't realize the financial gain they expected. This is a problem as many bands are in financial trouble. Anthrax was one of those who had to cancel their tour due to rising costs. It's not the only problem.
One fan asked a question via Twitter. "Why can a place that charges $8 for a drink be able to sell a special cocktail called the Limits'?" This is a poor start for a band without a record contract. One of the band members retweeted the tweet.
It is not the first occasion that a venue has had to take a substantial merch cut. However, it is not the first instance of an artist making a fuss about a venue taking merch. The discussion was sparked by Alpha Wolf's singer during a August show.

Bad Omens are a quartet that pushes the boundaries of rock music by their cinematic productions, sensual high register harmonies, and catchy hooks. Sumerian Records has released their latest album, THE DEAD OF PEACE OF MINDS. The title track features stunning visuals.
Glass Houses was the original name of the band. In their early days, lead guitarist Noah Sebastian started writing lyrics. He soon contacted Vincent Riquier, another guitarist, and Vincent Folio, the drummer to start the band. Both knew Riquier through an old project. They created a demo together and uploaded it online. After some auditions, they were offered a recording deal.
They released their self-titled album in 2016. Will Putney produced this album. They toured with Stick to Your Guns and Parkway Drive after the album was released. They were also invited on tour with Beartooth, In This Moment. The group is now on their headlining tour. The band will be performing in North America as well as Europe in 2018. Tickets for these shows are on sale now.
The band will be joining In This Moment, Dayseeker and A Day To Remember on the next tour.
