YouTuber and Minecraft Streamer Technoblade 23, Dies from Cancer

YouTuber and Minecraft streamer Technoblade has passed away at 23 years old after an extended battle with cancer of stage 4.



The content creator from San Francisco who kept his identity a secret until revealing his name in the final video "Alex" rose to fame after posting videos of himself playing Minecraft online in 2013. He eventually was able to acquire more than 10,000,000 subscribers.



He was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer last August. He had spent the majority of the past year away from the public eye as he underwent chemotherapy.

Although it is not clear what kind of cancer Alex was diagnosed with at the time, he continued to raise money for sarcoma charities and revealed in December that he'd undergone surgery to remove the tumor from his arm.



His father is unknown for his name, shared the sad announcement of his son's death with his many followers in a video uploaded today on Technoblade's YouTube channel. The video was named "So long nerds" and included a posthumous goodbye message from the YouTube star.



Calling his son 'the most amazing kid' the father then shared an audio of his son, who said"If I could have another hundred lives, I believe I would like to be Technoblade again every single time because those were the most joyful years of my life.'

Technoblade The gamer was very private and never shared details of his personal life mostly uploaded videos about the Sandbox game Minecraft.



He was blessed with three sisters, one brother named Chris, and a dog named Floof who was featured in his farewell video along with his father.



In one of his videos, he admitted that his parents divorced and he lived with his father who owns a movie studio.



After graduating from high school, he sat out a gap year before moving to Chicago where he went to college to pursue an English major.

After dropping out, he returned to San Francisco.



In one of his videos, the man explained how he came up with the Tecnoblade channel for solely the purpose of building confidence and gaining 10 million subscribers.



He quickly grew a huge following, sharing numerous clips of his playing Minecraft with them, however he never revealed his identity or name to fans.



He announced the shocking news of his cancer diagnosis in August in a YouTube video called "Where I've Been" that has been watched over 13 million times.



In the video, he told fans he had been diagnosed with cancer following a thought he had an arm injury and revealing: 'In the last few days of July, my right arm started to hurt quite a bit.'



The creator of the content (seen left) who had not disclosed his name or face prior to the time the final video was released was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in the last year.



Thinking it was a stress-related injury due to his ongoing playing, he took some time off - before realizing that it wasn't going away.
