How to Obtain Minecraft Amethyst Shards and how to make use of them

Minecraft Amethyst Shards can be obtained by mining clusters of amethyst that are found in geodes. These shards can be used as fancy decorations or as crafting materials to make Spyglasses and Tinted Glass. You'll need to understand the details of how to maximize the shard gains you can get and where to locate Amethyst Geodes if you want to find these purple crystalshards. Here's what you should learn about mining and finding Amethyst Shards in Minecraft, and also what you can do with them.

Where can I find Amethyst Geodes in Minecraft

To find an Amethyst Geode in Minecraft, it's best to just go underground and begin mining. You don't have to dig deep: Amethyst geodes can spawn between Y-level -64 and Y-level 30. Because they are large and often cracked, geodes are easy to spot. You may also notice tiny glowing lights from the distance.

Keep an eye out for smooth basalt when mining. This is the dark outer layer of an Amethyst Geode. Break through the first layer to find calcite, and then move on to the amethyst. There are Blocks of Amethyst and Budding Amethyst as well as Amethyst Buds and Amethyst Clusters. Let's go over which is which:

How to obtain Amethyst Shards from Minecraft using Amethyst Clusters

Minecraft Netherite is extremely valuable, however, it's much more difficult to find Amesthyst Shards.

Amethyst Shards are thrown from the growing amethyst crystals known as Amethyst Clusters. They are located inside Amethyst Geodes. You can mine amethyst clusters to earn Minecraft AmethystShards for exchange which can then be used to make certain items.

It is important to only mine fully mature ones. The smaller Amethyst buds in Minecraft won't drop any Amethyst Shards. An Amethyst Bud goes through three stages before becoming an Amethyst Cluster. Check out the image above to see how you can distinguish them!

Fully formed Amethyst Clusters drop two Minecraft Amethyst Shards if broken by any other tool, and four when mined with a pickaxe. The Fortune enchantment can increase the amount of Amethyst Shards you get. If you want to collect the cluster by itself, use a pickaxe with the Silk Touch enchantment.

Budding Amethyst blocks are the best place to grow Minecraft Amethyst Clusters or Buds. You can identify them by the cross-shape on their sides. You can't mine Budding Amethyst, but you will be able to come back to see Amethyst Buds that have just spawned. The other amethyst solid block is referred to as the 'Block of Amethyst' and can be mined with a pickaxe. The block is only decorative, and cannot grow Amethyst Buds. You can make use of Amethyst Shards to create more Minecraft Blocks of Amethyst if you wish to build with them as a material.

You can create anything using Minecraft Amethyst Shards

Amethyst Shards are a new, posh building material. You can also use them to create the following products:

Spyglass: Spyglass: Spyglass is one-half-inch thick Amethyst Shard layered on top of two Copper Ingots. Spyglasses are useful for zooming in on distant objects. Tinted Glass: One block of glass with an Amethyst Shard above, below and on either side, will result in two blocks of Tinted Glass. Tinted Glass is a building material which blocks all light (but you can still see through it). It isn't a suffocating material, but it can be used again in the event of a break.

Block of Amethyst It is for decorative purposes only, as we've said before. You can create a Block of Amethyst using four Amethyst Shards.

It's time to find some Amethyst Shards in order to create your dream amethyst home!
