Indie rock band Koria Kitten Riot is releasing their fourth album, "Hope" on 27thof January 2017. The lyrics are inspired by the universe, and the themes of science and hope pervade the music. The band has been working on this album for a long time.
The Lows & The Highs
Singer-songwriter Antti Reikko's project, Koria Kitten Riot, is a combination of big instrumentation and intimate songwriting. The result is a compelling mix of pop and folk that conjures up the spirit of Bright Eyes. Her second album, The Lows & The Highs of the Koria Kitten Riot, is another strong example of this combination.
Antti Reikko
Helsinki-based Koria Kitten Riot are releasing their third studio album, a collection of original songs that explore the experiences of frontman Antti Reikko and his band. The band began as a solo project and soon evolved into a five-piece touring band. They're currently working on their third album, which was recorded in Berlin in June and July 2012 with producer Simon Frontzek.
Reikko, who is also a member of Johnny Superhero, plays almost everything on the album except for the drums. He plays acoustic guitar, synthesizer, piano, and harmonica. He also collaborated with Johnny Superhero's bassist and drummer for the drum tracks on the album. All of the music was recorded live in Reikko's bedroom. Eino Anttila mixed the final tracks.
The Laughing Man
The Laughing Man is a new song from Finnish band Koria Kitten Riot. This is the band's first outtake from their forthcoming album. The album is due out later this year on a new label called VILD. It's upbeat and uplifting with its whimsical melodies and harmonies.
This is their first album since 2001's Songs of Hope and Science. The band's unique sound features tie-dyed guitar pop and a 60s folk rock flavour. They use harmony singing and intertwine themes of science and hope. Their sound also incorporates influences from the Beatles, XTC, and psychedelic music.
The Highs
The Highs of Koria Kitten's new album has a bright and upbeat feel despite poking fun at the human condition. The uplifting lyrics and gentle melodies are a welcome change from the dark, bleak reality of their debut album.
