Avanos Medical and FDA issued a Class 1 recall of 629 CORTRAK*2 Enteral Access System, which is a tube for feeding device that is linked to many fatalities and injuries.

Avanos Medical feeding tube Incorrect placement of nasogastric as well as Nasoenteric tube was the source of 53 deaths and 60 injuries since the year 2015.
Cortrak 2 eternal access system The recall will amend the label of the device to instruct users to verify that the tube is correctly placed prior the time of delivering nutrition.
Cortrak 2 eternal access system "Adverse incidents reported include respiratory failure as well as pneumothorax (collapsed lung), perforation (a hole in the wall of the lung or esophagus or bowel) as well as pneumonia (a lung infection) and an effusion of the pleura (excess fluid in the lung cavity and the chest cavity)," according to the FDA.
