Minecraft will not complete the bridge to PS4, Vita and Xbox One until August, but a PlayStation Blog update lends a few more details about what we can expect from the port to Sony's latest home console.
We've been told before that the size of the world would be "a significantly bigger" on consoles with more modern features. However this update gives more details: the PS4 will offer 36 times more space for construction sites on the flagship than the PS3. You can consider the DualShock 4's touchpad as a new tool in your arsenal as well, since 4J Studios is implementing optional support for its use in crafting or menu navigation.
The PS4 version will allow eight players to play online. A single PS4 can accommodate up to four players through splitscreen. Minecraft's PS4 debut will also be followed by "a bunch of Sony-specific DLC that will be available shortly after the release."

Saves can be transferred from the PS3 or Xbox 360 to allow you to keep developing your architectural skills without having to begin from scratch. You can upgrade to digital versions beginning in August with PS4 or Xbox One builds. It costs $4.99. PlayStation 3 owners can upgrade to the Vita version by staying with the PS3.
Mojang would love to offer discounts to the spinning disc-based Minecraft versions. However, the article states that it's "proving a bit more difficult to set up." We'll be waiting to discover if it's feasible.
