Father of Technoblade, YouTube Minecraft Star Says his Son has Died

He read his son's final message on the YouTube channel where the 20-something had entertained over 11 million subscribers with Minecraft games and hilarious commentary. The title "So long nerds."

Technoblade, a YouTube celebrity who gained an online following of millions through his wry comments on videos of him playing Minecraft, has died the father of his son announced in a video posted on his son's account.

Technoblade's Minecraft gameplay was watched by more than 11 million users. He was a commentator on camera. He described every day life events in his videos which range from mundane as going to the doctor for a D.M.V. or as devastating as a cancer diagnosis.

Technoblade's YouTube channel released the video "so long geeks" on Thursday. urbanislovar.com It was viewed more 26 million times as of Friday afternoon. The video is a departure from the channel's usual aesthetic that features vibrant bricks that are pixelated. Technoblade's father is instead sitting in a chair with a small white dog on a stark white background.

His father, who does not give his name reads a message from his child that begins: "Hello everyone. Technoblade is here. You can see me dead in this video if you're watching it.

The message goes on to reveal Technoblade's first name, Alex, which he did not use on the internet. The video also features some photos of Alex with loved ones. He was not a big fan of showing himself in YouTube videos and preferred to display himself as a crowned, sword-wielding porcine avatar.

"If I had another hundred lives I'm sure I'd choose to be Technoblade repeatedly," Alex's letter says. "Those were the happiest years of my life."

His father, who is emotional throughout the video, says that he and his son argued for months about whether to make the final video. The father of the son says that Alex wrote the letter and passed away eight hours later.

He says, "I don’t think he said all he wanted to but I think he understood the major points."

The video concludes with a declaration written by Alex's mother (who is not named) wrote. She said that her son avoided personal fame and was self-deprecating, even as his channel skyrocketed in popularity.

She wrote that Technoblade was always seeking ways to please and reward their audience. He offered prizes online and encouraged good sportsmanship and most importantly, he shared his Minecraft adventures for entertainment and fun.

Alex's family was unable to reach the player on Friday. Hypixel is a gaming firm that worked with Technoblade, has confirmed that the family requested that comments not be forwarded to them. Don Pireso, the company administrator, said in a tweet that "The video they posted contains all the information they are comfortable sharing right now."

Alex uploaded his August video on his YouTube channel, where the first time he acknowledged his diagnosis of cancer. Like the other videos video, it included the game as the actor spoke out of camera. He kept his self-deprecating , humorous style, refusing any attempt to be serious. He also revealed his age, 22.

In the video, he narrated the way in which his first round of chemotherapy made him exhausted to the point that it was difficult for him to sit for a virtual doctor's appointment. Then, he joked: "Sitting in a chair is that me being Superman?"

He claimed he was diagnosed after he experienced severe discomfort in his arm. He initially dismissed it as a repetitive strain injury caused by playing video games however, after several days of rest, he said his shoulder "was swelling like crazy."

He also urged people to get the Covid-19 vaccine, stating that the treatments for cancer affected his immune system, which put him at greater risk of serious illness from the coronavirus.

"I'm going to stand up and speak on behalf of all cancer patients when I say that it is extremely frustrating when hospitals are getting overworked by patients dying from preventable diseases," he said in the video. "I'm just saying that we've got a right to use the beds in hospitals."

On social media, Technoblade's family and followers have praised him for his wit and for being a role model to Minecraft players.

Minecraft is unique to other games because its owner, Microsoft, does not manage the servers that players can meet online. Instead, players can create their own servers and join with others to create a huge world of virtual worlds within the Minecraft universe.

Hypixel which manages a network of Minecraft servers, said it had created a memorial book that allows people to write messages that would be printed and sent to the Technoblade family. The tribute featured a picture of Technoblade's pig character as an artifact. Technoblade's success is linked in numerous ways to the achievement and success of a lot of people.
