Roblox has removed an vital component of the game, taking the well-known "oof" sound from the game due to a "licensing issue," the developer said.
On Tuesday the game's massively multiplayer developer Roblox Corporation announced the decision on Twitter and announced that an immediate replacement was scheduled to launch on the platform.
"Related to sounds due to a licensing issue, we have removed the "oof" sound from Roblox and created an alternative default sound, which will be available today," the company tweeted.
Kotaku mentions that the "oof" sound was created by Tommy Tallarico, a former game composer and Intellivision CEO. URBANISLOVAR This is not the first time Roblox has faced licensing issues.
In case you're wondering, "oof" is the sound that characters make when they die in the game or when they reset but it's evolved beyond the sound of an exclamation and has grown into a well-loved rallying cry for the Roblox community.
