15th Anniversary Collector's Edition is also due later in the year.

Blizzard has announced that World of Warcraft Classic - the long-awaited return of the game that goes back 13 years - will launch on August 27, but current WoW subscribers will get an opportunity (and note, it is only an opportunity) to play the beta test for a while prior to that date, beginning from tomorrow in fact.
The Classic version restores the game to the August 2006 'Drums of War Update' (patch 1.12) However, it still has many of the bells and whistles that the current MMO enjoys.
If you're a subscriber to World of Warcraft, you'll get this retro reboot no cost, and also the chance to jump into the closed beta testing starting tomorrow (May 15) as mentioned. You'll need to sign up your interest in the beta here (opens in new tab) and hope that you're lucky enough to be picked.

These are the top MMO games of 2019
However, even in the event that you don't get it early on in the beta, Blizzard notes that there will be a series of stress tests throughout the summer, with increasing numbers of participants being invited to take part.
As we have heard, the idea behind WoW Classic is to make it more difficult, similar to back in the days. The main purpose of WoW Classic Classic is to increase social interaction and assist with these challenges.
Collector's Edition
Classic will be released as part of the 15th anniversary celebration of WoW. Blizzard will also release an World of Warcraft 15th anniversary Collector's Edition on October 8. The edition will cost around $115, $170 AU.
It includes the usual in-game bonus item , as well as other collectibles, such as statues of Ragnaros the Firelord (‘by fire , be purified by fire!) and a mouse pad with a map of Azeroth.
There will also be an in-game WoW event that will build into a 25-player raid featuring some of the most well-known bosses from the past, with the chance to earn the exclusive Obsidian Worldbreaker mount for those who successfully make it through.
