YouTuber for Minecraft Technoblade has passed away at the age of 23, his family have confirmed the news in a poignant farewell video posted on his behalf.

The video, entitled "solong geeks", was posted to his 10 million followers. It included his father's words, which he described as "the best kid anyone could ever ask for".

The US internet personality gained fame through streaming live and sharing videos of his playing the videogame sandbox.

Last year, Technoblade revealed to fans that he had been diagnosed with cancer.

His father read his goodbye message a few hours before his passing. It began with "Hello everyone, Technoblade here." If you're watching this. I am dead."

He went on to reveal that his real name was actually Alex recalling the time he pranked viewers into believing his name was Dave.

"Thank you all for your support of my content throughout the years," he continued. "If I had another hundred lives I'm sure I'd choose to be Technoblade each time since those were the most enjoyable years of my life."

The online star, who won Minecraft tournaments and had thousands of fans chatting about his life in a humorous manner while playing the game, explained in a fundraising video published in February that he received radiation therapy, chemotherapy and a limb salvage procedure after he developed a painful tumor in his right arm.

Sarcoma, a rare form of bone and soft tissue cancer, was the cause of the death of his father.

His YouTube channel has 10.8 million subscribers. Kd76 His bio says: "I play too many video games. I might not be the best, but I do have hot elbows."
