You were excited. We were excited. Overall excitement was palpable as Minecraft Festival tickets were going to be released on Friday of this week, officially starting the countdown for our blockstravaganza that will be held in person this September. After much consideration and thought, we decided to postpone this year's event.
Many organizers have had to cancel or delay events and gatherings all over the globe due to the COVID-19 virus. This was done to safeguard their guests from harm and to ensure their safety. The situation around Minecraft Festival, however, is a bit different. September is still many months away, and we are not making any forecasts about how long it will take to put the outbreak behind us. This is due to the numerous preparations required to organize an event of this magnitude.
Our producers, partners and exhibitors are scattered all over the world We are not able to collaborate and meet in the way we would like to. We don't know when we can resume planning therefore we have decided to not go ahead. So we can ensure that the event next year will be the one that our community expects and deserves.
This is quite disheartening. We do have some good news! Igre Minecraft Live will happen exactly as it was planned. It'll be the best place to find all the latest Minecraft news, announcements, and behind the scenes exclusives and will be live-beamed straight to your screen, wherever you are. Thanks, Internet!
