Mojang has launched its Minecraft Realms subscription service in North America, offering hosting and setup for multiplayer Minecraft worlds starting at $13 a month.
Mojang claims that Minecraft Realms is particularly valuable for parents. It makes it easy to create a child's personal Sandbox, and also limit the number of users invited to use it. Backup features are included in the monthly subscription cost which allows users to make changes that aren't wanted and roll back worlds back to their previous state.

Minecraft Realms allows up to 10 players to join at once. The service will host minigames as well as other in-game events regularly. Discounts are available to those who sign up for either a three or six-month subscription. The service is currently available for Minecraft PC however support for Minecraft Pocket Edition will be added in a future update. [Image: Mojang]
