Similar to Minecraft Dungeons, Legends is creating new mobs for Minecraft.
Minecraft Legends creative director Magnus Nedfors and executive producer Dennis Ries sat down during the Xbox booth livestream at Gamescom this week to deliver some new information about Legends, including info on new mobs-both friends and foe. Mojang Interactive and Blackbird Interactive are launching a new RTS spinoff that will be a major hit in the Minecraft world, like previous genres. Dungeons broke the rules of Minecraft lore to create mobs that fit its action RPG world, and Legends is also doing the same.
As we saw in the first trailer The main villains of Minecraft Legends are the familiar Nether inhabitants, the Piglins. While we're used to Piglins and Hoglins in Vanilla Minecraft, Legends is including a "Pigmadillo," which crouches down into a cube, and contrary to what you'd think based on the physics of a cube it is able to roll offensively towards the object it's trying to attack. premium content Ries also explains that there are "Bruisers", which have two razor blades. Minecraft Dungeons, for its part, also added new mobs like the Iceologers and Mountaineers. The Iceologers wound up being included in the Minecraft Live 2020 fan vote for which mob to add to Vanilla Minecraft. They were defeated by Glow Squid but I wouldn't mind seeing one of these Legends baddies have the same chance to achieve Vanilla Mine fame.
