A Minecraft map can be whatever you want it be. One of the most appealing aspects of Sandbox gaming is the flexibility it provides to design incredible Minecraft designs, or to spend many hours exploring every block.
We frequently witness amazing things due to the combination of the Minecraft playground and the creativeness of its users. Some projects take longer than others. Today's feat is an Minecraft city that took 2,400 hour to build over 2.5 years. That's a huge commitment and one of the most impressive Minecraft cities we've ever seen.
It's not the first time that the Minecraft map has been published on Reddit. The last time was in July 2021. "Since my last posting the city has almost doubled in size, around 11 sq km when we include all the roads network and 40-50 sq km if we consider the cleared land." Below is a video that shows off a portion of the city. You can watch it on Redditor.
It's almost like feeling Minecraft struggling to launch every detail and structures as the player zips around. Alongside the buildings are roads complete with markings as well as a tiny area that appears to be an electricity grid, and even multilevel highways and a train track. There are apparently over 2,000 buildings in the city, as well. It would make an amazing hide-and-seek map. But it's not available for download.
