Augmented reality mobile game Minecraft Earth is shutting down in June the developer Mojang Studios announced this morning.

"Minecraft Earth was designed around free-movement and collaborative play-two things that have become nearly impossible in the current climate," the official announcement reads. "We have made the difficult decision to redirect resources to other areas that provide importance to the Minecraft community, and also to end support for Minecraft Earth in June 2021."
Minecraft Earth, a game that focuses on exploring the world, didn't do well during the ongoing epidemic of covid-19. This has stopped potential players from going out in the public. The game will not be relaxing into the night. A new update, dropping today, will halt real-money transactions and make it easier to play while remaining safe in the house. Additionally, anyone who signs into Minecraft Earth between now and June 30 will receive an unbeatable set of character creator items.

After June 30, Minecraft Earth will be not available for download. Mojang has said it will give everyone who has made real-money purchases a free copy of Minecraft as a way of thanking them.
