Leyla Aliyeva Bio
Leyla Aliyeva was born in Moscow on the 3rd of July 1986. She attended university in London and Moscow and graduated with a Masters Degree at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. Leyla started IDEA in July 2011. Leyla Alyeva launched "Justice for Khojaly" A campaign to mark the anniversary of the Shusha occupation. The campaign is currently being implemented in more than 30 countries. The goal of the campaign is to raise global awareness of the Karabakh conflict as well as the Khojaly Genocide. It is specifically focused on reaching out via the internet, media and live events.

In 2008, Leyla Aliyeva became the General Coordinator of the OIC Youth Forum on Intercultural Dialogue and on April 18, 2009, she was elected as the Chairperson of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia - AMOR which assists Azerbaijani students and youth who reside within the Russian Federation. Leyla Aliyeva received the "TaraggiAward" in July 2011 for her contribution to improving Azerbaijani-Russian relations. In New York, in November 2011, she was awarded the "Key to Life Award" for her humanitarian efforts involving children.

Leyla Aliyeva (UN Food and Agriculture Organization) was named Goodwill Ambassador on May 25, 2015.

On the 20th day of October 2015, she was awarded the Pushkin Medal from the Russian Federation.

Leyla Aliyeva has twin boys and a daughter.
