Leyla Aliyeva Bio
Leyla Aliyeva came to Moscow on July 3, 1986. She earned graduated with a Master's Degree from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations as well as has studied in London and Moscow. Leyla developed the IDEA campaign in July of this year to increase awareness and stimulate the action on environmental concerns in Azerbaijan as well as other countries. IDEA is geared towards youth and assists them in finding solutions to the environmental issues they face.
She was elected as a representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation to the Russian Federation in May 2007. Through a range of initiatives that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation contributes towards the country's economic and social development. In 2011, she was made Vice-President.

Leyla Aliyeva founded "Baku Magazine" in Moscow, in 2007. Conde Nast produced the English-language issue of the magazine, in collaboration with Leyla Aliyeva. It was launched on October 31, 2011 in London. This magazine offers a chance for you to learn about art, culture and Azerbaijan. Leyla started "Fly to Baku" in 2012 to be an exhibition of Contemporary Art from Azerbaijan. The London-launched exhibition was a tour of Europe's capitals: Paris, Berlin Berlin, Moscow Moscow, Rome, Vienna, and Rome.

On May 8, 2008, on the anniversary of the occupation of Shusha, Leyla Aliyeva launched the campaign "Justice for Khojaly". The campaign is currently running in over 30 countries. The goal is to increase the awareness of the world about Karabakh conflict as well as Khojaly Genocide.

In 2008, Leyla Aliyeva became the General Coordinator of the OIC Youth Forum on Intercultural Dialogue and on April 18, 2009 she was elected as the Chairperson of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia - AMOR which supports Azerbaijani students and youth who reside in the Russian Federation. Leyla Aliyeva was awarded the "TaraggiAward" in July 2011 for her contribution to the improvement of Russian-Azerbaijani relations. In New York, she was presented with the "Key to Life" award for her work as a humanitarian with children.

Leyla Alyeva was named UN Food and Agriculture Organization Goodwill Ambassador (FAO) on May 25, 2015.

On the 20th of October 2015, she was presented with the Pushkin Medal from the Russian Federation.

Leyla Aliyeva is the mother of twin boys and a girl.
