The Open Anthropology Cooperative is a community open to all with an interest in anthropology.

---

The main portal can be found at http://OpenAnthCoop.net/ where you will find easy access to exciting Seminars of varying research topics, the publication platform OAC Press, a lively discussion Forum with many competent anthropologists, the Ning Archive with thousands of valuable additions to the scientific community, and of course a link back to this Facebook group.

The OAC Facebook group alone has over 12,500+ members from all across the world. Everyone is encouraged to comment, question, and post from their own diverse and common perspective. All four fields are welcome; Archeological Anthropology, Linguistic Anthropology, Physical Anthropology, and Social Anthropology. Other fields are also more than welcome of course; Existential Anthropology, Forensic Anthropology, Applied Anthropology, and so on. While the community has a lot of highly educated individuals, you should not feel afraid to contribute in any way. Any question is a good question, any comment is a good comment. It is you that help make this community what it is.

For many, the Facebook layout does not seem suitable for lengthy conversations about complex issues. That is where the discussion Forum comes in, where you can more easily follow and engage in more in-depth discussions. - http://openanthcoop.net/forum

---

The OAC Team are dedicated to “open access, open membership, open to sharing new ideas, open to whatever the organization might do or become; open to everyone, as in ‘open source’.” This is our ethos or credo. What it entails more practically is that we try to prioritise news and links to research that is open access, the membership of the community is and always will be free for all to join, there is and never will be any restrictions on who can engage and participate in the community, and the form of the community itself does not cling to any specific platform but is open to continuous adaptation. - http://openanthcoop.net/about-2/

---

Aside from participating in the Facebook group of the discussion Forum, there are many ways that you can choose to get involved in the OAC network. You could choose to publish a text of your own, using our open access platform. You could choose to start a new venture that we haven't even thought of, perhaps a live event or a new platform somewhere. Or you could choose to support the OAC in many other ways. - http://openanthcoop.net/join/

---

Again, feel free to join the discussion Forum over at http://openanthcoop.net/forum, or post something in the Facebook group, or just read and enjoy the flow of information regarding various anthropological discussions.
