Human sexuality has been a controversial issue since the origin of Christianity. Due to it's politically polarized perspectives, and the volatility of the Trump election it is more of a talking point than ever. Transgender adults and students are at the very crux of the discussion, and heated controversies (like article 1) drive LBGTQ+ debate. Due to the way that the transgender debate is very deeply correlated with political tribalism, it wouldn't be possible to talk about the state of transgender issues without elaborating on electoral separatism. Political parties in America define what we care about and how we think. It's usually all or nothing. If you think that abortion should be legal, but you are also for capital punishment you belong to neither party. There is no mixing or matching. Because of this split, basic civil rights to those who are transgender are typically associated with left - wing liberals. This political divide leaves roughly half the population in a dichotomy between being a "republican" and supporting transgender rights. Due to this fact, many people who may not care as much about social issues as economic issues might intrinsically disagreeing with rights for transgender people only because they want to be classified as conservative. This is easily demonstrated through the second article which talks about how Trump's conservative administration is taking action against transgender citizens.
