§ All languages consists of Figurative Language.
Example: He is a big man.
Alliteration: Two or more words in succession beginning with the same consonant sound.
Example: Sea shells sea shells on the seashore.
Metaphor: Compare two things without using like or as.
Example: When he was in danger. He was transformed into a cheetah.
Simile: Compare two things using as or like.
Example: When he found himself in danger. He ran like the wind.
Both Simile and Metaphor are used for comparison.
Hyperbole: Gross exaggeration
Example: I've told you a hundred times to be quiet.
Example: It would take ages to complete my homework.
Onomatopoeia: A word which suggests the sound a word makes.
Example: "I see" boomed, Mr Haggerty.
