The song ,"Hold on We're Going' Home," by Drake is a very emotional song that has many different interpretations that it can be perceived. One of the most popular ways is that it describes times in which people help and assist others for great reasons. Drake uses strong and slow moving background music to create a gloomy tone in which with listeners can get attached and enter the song as if they are apart of a similar event. Many people like to think that this song has to do with staying close to family and protecting them with their lives.

The "March on Washington," was when 200,000 plus americans gathered in Washington DC to protest the jobs and free the country was offering. It was the largest and most televised protest in history. This event was so good at doing what it was intended to do people would join from all backgrounds to stand up and march for what was right.

I feel like the song by the song by Drake and the event have lots of connections. Firstly, the people that had attended the protest left their home from all around the country and most of the people were away from their families and friends. In the song it has a lot of lyrics pertaining to the fact that the "first person character" in the song wants to go home and see and spend time with the people he/she aren't seeing. Another reason I feel like the two have a lot in common are that the reason for the protest were that african americans and so many others did not have equal opportunity to get a job themselves. Referenced in the song Drake raps about how he was not given an equal chance at a rapper either. "Hold on we're Going Home," by Drake has a lot in common with the March on Washington.
