Best bet is to go into a bike store and see what they have, you want to make sure the bike has a good amount of gears, id say 18 minimum. The Giant Bike Store in Shoreham is a good place to start, they have loads of bikes and you can see what kind you wants. Personally I'd avoid Halford. There bikes are all made in China and then assembled in store, that said Tash likes hers and apparently some of the high end bikes there are pretty decent. Evans are better as the staff are all mechanics and know the bikes. If you want to get something online then here are a few with good reviews.
