Meteor,Meteroid,Meteoroid
Meteoroud adalah salah satu anggota tata surya yg terkadang dpt tertarik oleh planet sekitarnya. Meteoroid yang tertarik oleh gaya gravitasi akan masuk dengan kelajuan tinggi yang biasa kita lihat sbg bintang jatuh. Penampakan tsb disebabkan oleh panas yang dihasilkan oleh tekanan ram pada saat meteoroid memasuki atmosfer. Meteor yang sangat terang bahkan lebih terang dr penampakan planet venus biasa disebut bolide. Ukuran meteoroid yang msk ke atmosfer sangat beragam mulai dr yang kecil sebesar sebutir padi(beberapa gram) sampai yang seukuran batu besar (kilogram). Meteoroid yg besar tdk dpt terbakar dan hancur spt meteoroid yang kecil krn adanya gesekan dan dpt mencapai permukaan bumi.
Cara membedakan meteoroid,meteor,dan meteorit,
Meteoroid : yang terletak di luar atmosfer bumi
Meteor : jika sudah msk ke dalam lapisan atmosfer (biasa disebut bintang jatuh)
Meteroit: jika sudah jatuh ke bumi
Meteor yg mendarat di tanah dpt menciptakan impact craker ( kawah tabrakan ).
Contoh impact craker :
yang terjadi sekitar 50 ribu tahun silam, meteorit dengan berat ribuan ton jatuh di Arizona (AS), sehingga membentuk kawah yang berdiameter 1200M dan kedalaman 175M
tekanan ram adalah tekanan yang dihasilkan oleh benda yang bergerak dgn kecepatan supersonik di dalam medium fluida (gas/cairan)
