Alınan bilgiye göre, merkeze bağlı Gerişkatırcı köyünde bir evde yaşayan Sevda Karakoç, 6 aylık ve 2 yaşındaki iki çocuğu ile Ellibaş köyündeki halasının evine misafirliğe gitti.
Evde, masanın üzerindeki erikten yiyen 2 yaşındaki oğlu Yasin Eren'in nefes alamadığını fark eden anne Karakoç, nefes borusuna kaçan eriği çıkarmaya çalıştı.
Karakoç, müdahalesine rağmen eriği çıkaramayınca, yakınlarının otomobiliyle oğlunu Bartın Kadın Doğum ve Çocuk Hastalıkları Hastanesi'ne götürdü.
Hastanede operasyona alın Yasin Eren, nefes borusuna kaçan eriğin çıkartılmasına rağmen hayatını kaybetti. Yasin Eren'in cenazesi, yapılan otopsinin ardından ailesine teslim edildi. Cenazenin teslimi sırasında sinir krizi geçiren anne Karakoç, müşahede altına alındı.
