7. • Menurut kristen kontemporer, demon adalah malaikat yang jatuh dari karunia dan memberontak melawan Allah. Namun pada sekolah sekolah kristen atau yudaisme, demon adalah hasil hubungan sexual antara malaikat yang jatuh dengan perempuan manusia.
• Menurut Islam, demon atau iblis atau juga setan (syaitan) adalah ciptaan Allah SWT yang terlahir dari api. Iblis adalah makhluk Allah yang pertama kali mendurhakai Allah. Dulu, Iblis adalah makhluk yang saleh kepada Allah, namun setelah Allah menciptakan Adam yang dari tanah, iblis menjadi cemburu dan iri sehingga mendurhakai Allah.
