EDIT-Spoops are just how scary the jumpscare is, a 1 is just a li'l scare chord, and a 5 is something out of your nightmares.

Oh, and just so you know Mark, there are three endings to this game. There's the normal ending, the secret 'forgotten ending, which you can get by messing with a certain room decoration every night, and the Ultimate ending, which you can only get by going off the path in the deepscape to find a few secrets.
