~Aeromancy~
-Pengertian-
Aeromancy adalah ramalan dengan menggunakan udara dan langit sebagai mediumnya yakni dengan cara mengamati bentuk awan, komet dan fenomena langit lainnya.
-Penerapan-
Aeromancy menggunakan awan, arus angin, dan peristiwa kosmologi untuk mencoba ramalan ke masa depan. Ada beberapa jenis dari penerapan ini:
1. austromancy (ramalan menggunakan angin)
2. ceraunoscopy (mengamati guntur dan petir)
3. chaomancy (penglihatan udara)
4. meteormancy (meteor dan bintang jatuh)
5. nephomancy (ramalan menggunakan awan)
-Sejarah-
Kata "aeromancy" pertama kali digunakan ditemukan di Chambers, Cycl. Supp, 1753. Ini didefinisikan sebagai "departemen ilmu science yang memperlakukan atmosfer". Namun, variasi pada kata telah digunakan sepanjang sejarah dengan contoh paling awal berada di dalam Alkitab, meskipun praktek ini diduga telah digunakan oleh para imam Babel kuno.
Aeromancy disebutkan dalam Deuteronomy 18 sebagai yang dikutuk oleh Musa. Hal ini juga dikutuk oleh Albertus Magnus di Speculum Astronomiae, yang menggambarkan praktek sebagai turunan dari necromancy. Praktek ini dibantah oleh Luis de Valladolid pada tahun 1889 di karyanya yang berjudul "Historia de vita et Doctrina Alberti Magni".
Di Renaissance magic, aeromancy diklasifikasikan sebagai salah satu dari tujuh "seni dilarang," bersama dengan necromancy, geomansi, hydromancy, pyromancy, ramalan menurut tangan (palmistry), dan spatulamancy (scapulimancy).
