Character Background: Sylthana, a firbolg well versed in the ways of druidism, lived for most of her life in a firbolg village deep in the forest south of Scornubel. She learned druidism from an old firbolg man her tribe referred to as "the elder". Her people kept watch over the forest and cared for the fauna that inhabited it for as long as anyone could remember. Sylthana had a particular joy for interacting with the vibrant and diverse life of the forest.

Sylthana became a skilled druid throughout the course of her life, learning to shapeshift into powerful creatures. She defended her people and wildlife from poachers and others who sought to do them harm for years. One day, however, while she and the elder were wandering the forest, a large group of goblins destroyed her village and slaughtered her tribe.

When Sylthana and the elder arrived, they were devastated by what they saw. The elder felt an intense guilt for having been absent to defend the village, and took a pilgrimage, leaving Sylthana unaware of where he had went. Sylthana wandered the forest, trying to come to terms with the loss of her people.

A few days later, an elven woman named Zylwynn Moonsong came across Sylthana at the edge of a river in the forest. Zylwynn consoled her and became a good friend of hers, coming to the forest occasionally from that point on to visit Sylthana. She is the one who bestowed the name elven name Sylthana Wildclaw upon the firbolg.

Sylthana now lives alone in the forest, wandering its many corners and caring for its wildlife. She tends to be suspicious of strangers when she comes across any, but if they prove themselves friends of the forest, they'll quickly become friends of Sylthana's as well.

Desires/Motivation: Sylthana strives to protect the forest and all wildlife that dwells within it. She aims to remove all threats to nature from the forest.

Flaws: Sylthana tends to highly distrust strangers. She not only speaks simply due to her lack of education, but she also, as firbolgs typically do, refers to people and things by their characteristics and deeds rather than proper names. Sylthana harbors a fear and hatred of goblins and often desires to lay waste to the group that slaughtered her tribe, but she does not want to stoop to their level, and thus acts against them mostly-defensively.
