Nowadays big towns in most countries have at least one zoo. Place where both parents and children can enjoy their free time and explore new things. But is it good for the animals?

First of all it is worth mentioning that to build a zoo it's a requirement to go and catch wild animals that later have to be tamed. The process isn't always successful and so it generates many problems and unnecessary stress for the animal.

On the other hand this actions give us a chance to save many endangered species that otherwise wouldn't be able to reproduce in a fast enough rate.

In addition to this with proper care from zoo staff, animals live in an environment that is friendly to them and resembles their natural habitat so it should encourage a more pro-animal behaviour among children simply because it shows them how interesting it can be to see such magnificent creatures in real life.

In opposition to this many people point out that it is still cruel to separate them from their homes and other animals of their kind. They compare animals to humans and that we would not be able to stand living in one place with same people all the time.

In conclusion I think that it is really hard to say whether or not it is a good thing to create zoos. It has both good and bad sides but there's surely a way to make it work out in the end.
