It was rather embarassing honestly. Having an asthma attack infront of a bunch of people who hadn't a clue what was going on, and not a single idea on how to help. When that happened to Irwin.. Things didn't go as planned to say the least. The small group of them, three of them. Irwin, Ashton and Holly were searching thru a rather dusty building. Irwin's chest felt tight, like someone was sitting on it and crushing his lungs. They were moving boxes around which added to the pressured feeling. After lifting maybe the seventh box and setting it down, Irwin concluded he was exhausted. He hunched over a table, his hands supporting him as he took in deep breaths and tried to get the air to his lungs. He nearly fell forward but ended up being so far hunched over that his forehead rested on the table as well. "You good, Irwin?" Ashton asked and placed down another box. Holly looked up, her attention shifting to Irwin. Irwin grunted in response and tried to shake his head. Holly dropped her box and rushed over to Irwin once he sunk down onto his knees and fell away from the table. Ashton too hurried over, he stood over Irwin. "Irwin!" Holly yelled and shook his shoulders. Irwin's breath was coming out in something between wheezes and whistles. His brown eyes stared cloudily up at the ceiling and beads of sweat dripped down his pale face. "Say something." Ash said and placed his hand on Irwin's shoulder. It took a few inhales before Irwin was able to speak, but when he did his words came in a whisper that was barely audible. "Asth...ma...". Holly stood and glanced around. "H-He has an inhaler right? Irwin where's your inhaler!?" Holly asked with her hands on the sides of her head, tugging at her hair. Irwin slowly opened his eyes and glanced up the stairs. Ashton followed his vision, "His backpack." He said and shook Irwin when he closed his eyes again. "Don't pass out." He said and glanced to Holly. Holly realized she was suppose to get it and sprinted up the stairs. It was five minutes later when she returned with the inhaler, the wrong one. She handed it to Ashton who took off the lid, stuck it between Irwin's teeth and pressed down on it. Nothing happed since the damn thing was out of uses. "Its not working." Ashton said and dropped Irwin's head. Irwin's eyes opened and he looked up at the two, watching what they did. He told himself he wouldn't black out or try to speak. Just keep trying to breathe in and out and ignore everything that was happening so he closed his eyes again. That task got harder immediately as Holly grabbed him by his shoulders and shook him. His body convulsed in an attempt not to cough and his jaw dropped open. He stared up at Holly with a type of angry emotion in his eyes that asked her to stop. Maybe she understood because she did. "We need to get Lolli or Mira." Ashton said. "What? Why! Youre a medic, cant you help him!" Holly exclaimed. "I-Im a rookie you idiot i dont know what to do!" Ashton reorted. "So? You should know how to treat the life threatening disease that the LEADER has!" Holly yelled back. 'Oh god.' Irwin thought and shut his eyes tighter, their yelling and arguing was so distracting and would lure the dead to them. He had to interfere before it got worse and someone fired ofd a gun. "Stop-" Irwin wheezed out, his body convulsed once more and he curled into a ball. He heard silence, they weren't arguing anymore. "Irwin- what can we do?!" Holly asked and shook his shoulder again. Irwin knew he should ask one of them to hum or distract him but they'd probably question his sanity. "Talk.. to me.." Irwin said quietly and tried to control his breathing again. "About what?" Ashton asked. "Anything." Irwin forced the words out of his mouth. They moved him over so his back was leaned against a wall. Irwin wrapped his arms around his sides. Holly started talking about her vacation to Ireland and such. Irwin listened in with his eyes closed, he begged his lungs to take it from here. He felt a wave of exhaustion creeping over him. "Irwin?" Ashton asked. Irwin nodded weakly. "Are you better now?" Ash asked, but Irwin shook his head. "Come on. What can we do, seriously! Talking isnt helping and you know it!" Ash was now yelling at him, which caused Irwin to feel even more unsteady, but it really was helping. Maybe they iust didnt realize it. More beads of sweat rolled down Irwin's pale face, suddenly someone asked "Guys?" He recognized the voice as Nickson and half-opened his eyes to look up and watch as Nickson walked in. Finally, Irwin wanted to scream. Someone with a kickass functioning brain! "Woah- What the hell is going on?!" Nickson demanded and rushed up to Irwin, nearly shoving Ashton aside. Oh please not another arguement. "Nickson.. inhaler.." Irwin wheezed out and nearly lurched forward. Nickson nodded. "On it. Wheres it at?" Nickson asked. "His backpack." Holly said. "And did you not think to go fucking get it?" Nickson asked and shoved her as he rushed up the stairs and brought Irwin's backpack down with the inhaler in his other hand. "How do you work this shit?" Nickson asked Ashton who almost took it from his hand. "Hahah good one like I'd let you use this. Show me how to use it." Nickson growled. "Guys..." Irwin begged in a wheezy whisper. He couldnt breathe let alone maange to hear another arguement. "Puff it when he inhales." Ashton told Nickson and he flicked off the cap, shoving the device in Irwin's mouth. "Three... t-" Nickson began to countdown but Irwin's arm shot up and he pressed down on the button himself. Relief washed over him as the bitter tasting medicine filled his lungs. Nickson began to pull it away from Irwin's mouth but Irwin managed this time to take it in both hands and press down on it better when he inhaled again. Irwin shook and dropped the inhaler, he leaned forward with his head in his lap and panted, the color was returning to his face. "You good?" Nickson asked and Irwin nodded. "See! See how fucking easy that was and none of you had the brains to do it?!" Nickson hollared and shoved Ashton. The three of them broke into an arguement while Irwin caught his breath. They didnt even realize when he got up and got a drink from his water bottle until he placed a hand on Nickson and Ashton's shoulder and looked them both in the eye. "Stop arguing." He tried to say kindly, but his words came out rather bitter. "What caused your asthma attack?" Nickson asked, changing the topic. "All the dust I guess." Irwin said and waved at the air by his face. "Good job to Ashton for having the idea that we look around in all these boxes." Holly spat and crossed her arms. "How was I fucking supposed to fucking know dust was a damn trigger?" Ashton spat. Irwin was turned away from them, digging in his backpack. The man looked up but not towards them. "Because I listed my asthma's triggers at the last meeting." Irwin stated. "I wasn-" Ash tried but Irwin cut him off as he turned around and cleared his throat. "You were there. You were petting your cat, which also triggers my asthma. Animal fur." Irwin pushed his glasses up his nose with a finger. "I wasnt paying attention to the meeting." Ash said defensively. "You should. I wouldn't call for one if it wasn't important." Irwin said and slung his backpack across his shoulder, heading towards the stairs. "Wait- where are you going?" Holly asked. "I need fresh air." Irwin said with a slight wheeze. "I can't breathe down here anymore." He headed up the stairs. Nickson flipped off Ash and Holly, said a single swear word to them both, and then followed Irwin up the stairs. Irwin held the door open for Nickson and the two of them sat on the ground. Irwin's eyes were closed and his mouth hung half open as he seemed to still be struggling to get air into his lungs. "Thank you." Irwin said suddenly. "Huh- for what?" Nickson asked. "Knowing what to do." Irwin said and opened his eyes, he turned to look at Nickson and smiled at him, but he still looked like he was in a bit of pain. "Of course. You're alright now though, right?" Nickson asked him quizzically and Irwin nodded. "I jus-" Irwin shook his head. "Im fine." He concluded.
