Menurut ceritanya, di pulau ini dulu ditemukan mayat seorang gadis kecil yang tenggelam di sana. Arwahnya terus menghantui pulau itu. Warga sekitar pulau ini sengaja menggantungkan boneka-boneka di pulau tak berpenghuni ini untuk mengusir roh-roh jahat, dan agar arwah gadis itu bisa tenang. Menurut mereka, terkadang kepala boneka ini bisa bergoyang sendiri, atau matanya bisa terbuka dan tertutup sendiri.

Rumah ini punya sebutan sebagai rumah paling berhantu di Inggris. Banyak orang mengaku telah melihat arwah suster-suster gentayangan di sana, atau mendengar suara anak-anak perempuan berkeliaran. Rumah ini terbakar dan hangus di tahun 1944.
