Definisi Psikologi menurut para ahli :
1. Menurut Dakir (1993), psikologi membahas tingkah laku manusia dalam hubungannya dengan lingkungannya.
2. Menurut Muhibbin Syah (2001), psikologi adalah ilmu pengetahuan yang mempelajari tingkah laku terbuka dan tertutup pada manusia baik selaku individu maupun kelompok, dalam hubungannya dengan lingkungan.
3. Menurut Plato dan Aritoteles Psikologi adalah ilmu yang mempelajari tentang hakikat jiwa serta prosesnya sampai akhir.
4. Menurut Woodworth dan Marquis Psikologi adalah ilmu yang mempelajari aktivitas individu sejak masih dalam kandungan sampai meninggal dunia dalam hubungannya dengan alam sekitar.
5. Menurut Moskowitz dan Orgel Psikologi adalah suatu ilmu pengetahuan empirik yang berdasarkan atas observasi dan penelitian eksperimental, pokok persoalannya adalah tentang tingkah laku manusia.
