how does the visual environment in blade runner strengthen its vision of a dystopic future
- bladerunner's panopticon - police and major corporations, as well as massive advertisements, which simply blend in -
camouflaged among the many other neon lights
- the grittiness of it, and the reoccurring "retrofitting" - the (more realistic) idea that the future will still kind of suck, and old tech will still be used
* the reinforcement of classes ad levels,
extremely visual in the film. the physically lower you are, the worse off you are - Tyrell is the highest on earth, but thousands are higher, of course - those in the off-world colonies.
* almost full government abandonment, only remaining signs are the LAPD - particularly Deckard, who isn't even able to hover in his bad car.
