O sıralarda Scott, Gambino Suç Ailesine hizmet eden hırslı bir [b]kaptandı[/b]. Los Angeles tamamen Scott’a bağlanmıştı. Scott, kendi suç ailesinin temellerini atmaya başlamıştı. Burayı kendisine istemesinin en büyük nedenlerinden birisi[b] polis ve diğer suç ailelerinin[/b] çoğunluğunun New York’da olması. Bu çoğunluk, Giacalone Suç Ailesi'nin hızla yükselmesine neden oldu. Los Angeles'da faaliyet gösteren [b]Kosher Nostra[/b] tabanlı [b]Cohen Suç Ailesi[/b], Gambino Ailesi'nden çıkma Giacolone ailesi gibi Genovese Ailesi'nden çıkma [b]Yahudi-İtalyan[/b] Ailesi'ydi. New York'dan çıkıp L.A tarafında kurulan iki aile vardı. Giacolone Ailesi, Cohen Ailesi ile iyi geçinen, Yahudiler ile iyi diplomasi kuran bir aileydi. Aile yılına göre kutu sigara satışı, liman soygunları, loan-shark (tefecilik), kara para aklama gibi türlü türlü işlerde faaliyet gösteriyordu. RICO yasasının henüz başlamaması, tüm modern İtalyan-Amerikan suç örgütleri için bir avantaj idi. Ailenin satılma gibi bir durumu olmadığından New York'daki hızla yükselen aileler gibi L.A'deki aileler de hızla yükseldi. Zaman biraz geçti. Bununla beraber sıkıntısız şekilde yükselen aile, bir süre sonra [b]üçten fazla ekibe[/b] ayrılma kararı aldı.[/color]
