Verb Tense
I run to the bus. Present tense (Happening now)
I ran to the bus. Past tense (Already happened)
I will run to the bus Future tense (Will happen later)

Verb Tense Consistency
When you write, you need to keep the same verb tense throughout your sentence or paragraph.

Here is an example:
During maths class, Tom RAISED his hand. He quickly SOLVES the problem.
(The sentence isn't consistence)

1.Marcie watched the car drive away. She WALKED back into the house feeling sad.
2.Darry wants his brothers to remain living with him. He WORRIES that they could end up in a foster home.
3.When my cell phone rang, I couldn't answer it. I know my friend would left a message.
4.Jess waves her arms in excitement when she NOTICES her cousins from Florida coming towards her in the airport.
5. For example, Carlos showed determination when he worked hard mowing lawns. He HELPED his family pay some of the bills.
6.The audience remained quiet during the performance, but when it was over, they CLAPPED enthusiastically.
7.I give my speech and everyone claps. They SHOW me a lot of support. I leave class class relieve.
8.Mum ordered a large pizza with cheese and pepperoni, but she forgot to ask for extra sauce.
9.The lawyer finished his speech in front of the Jury, who left the courtroom. The defendant exited with his own lawyers.
10.Tomorrow, when I will meet my friends for lunch, I will talk about all the problems I've been having this week.
11.Thomas Edison was an American who invented the phonograph in 1877. In 1878, he invented the light bulb.
12.Kim was sure the man in the SUV was following her. Fast as lightning, she ran to the bus and hopped on!
13.Lightning fills the sky as a storm rolls in. Huge drops of rain pounds against the street.
14.The special effects in the movie were amazing! The director hired professional stunt artists for the dangerous moves.
15.Henry VIII of England became a king when he was seventeen. He actually had six wives during the years he ruled.
16.We had no way to get down the steep mountain, so we waited for help three long hours.
17.I am sitting at the table eating breakfast when my brother comes up to me and asks for the house key.
