The DVLA will be writing to you shortly regarding my diagnoses of Sleep Apnea.
Just to give you an update: When I use the CPAP machine (nights that I’m not up and down because I’m in a lot of pain) I manage to get several hours of uninterrupted sleep (which I never used to get prior to using the machine!) which means that I’m not sleepy during the day. Driving has never ever been an issue for me; if I’m having a bad day in a lot of pain then I’m unable to drive at all, and if I’m tired I would never drive anyway. All other days are fine; I can drive without issue and never ever fall asleep at the wheel - I only ever do short journeys on my own anyway. It’s really important for me to be able to continue to drive as it allows me to keep what little independence I have left.
