Smartphones are just like computers. They have Processes and Services running in the background and need a reboot regularly (At least once a week). If these processes and services are running for long time without a restart, they may cause issues.
Rebooting your device gives it a fresh start and is sometimes all you need to fix your issue.
*Press and hold the Power button on your smartphone to Reboot the device (If reboot isnt available, turn Off and then turn On your smartphone).
If you want to know how long the device has been running, follow the steps below:
1. Open Settings
2. Scroll down and tap About Phone (If you don't find this, tap System and then look for About Phone)
3. Tap Status
4. Scroll down and check Up time (The time listed here is in hours. Anything above 168 hours needs to be rebooted.)
Perform a Hard Reset:
NOTE: The key combinations may vary from device to device. If the Volume Up+Power Keys don't work, try other combinations (Volume Down+Power Key, etc.)
Key functions to move up, down, select etc may vary from device to device
Make sure to backup data if possible (remove SD Card & SIM)
Very Important:
1. Once the hard reset is completed and the device reboots, you have to the use the same Gmail ID to login to the device. Please make a note of the Gmail ID before proceeding.
2. Read and understand everything mentioned below before you perform any step.
To do a factory data reset, follow these steps:
1. Power off the device
2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power buttons together for few seconds
3. At this screen, press Volume Down button twice or until you see Recovery Mode text on screen
4. Press the Power button to choose Recovery Mode
5. If you see No Command, then press and hold the Power button and press the Volume Up button just once to boot into recovery mode
6. Now, highlight the Wipe data/ Factory Reset using volume buttons and press the power button to select it
7. Confirm factory reset by selecting Yes on the next screen.
8. Now select reboot system
