When a country becomes torn apart by poverty, by disease, and by warfare, we can only hold on to the essence of its potential, we can only hope that its best will somehow shine through.

But from the ancient kingdoms of oyo and ife to the Nok with its millions of terra cotta sculptures, hope and potential blooms from the rooted, but perhaps slightly shaken bones of this land.

186 million call it home. And its easy to feel owerwhelmed by that, standing before a country with stromg diversity but also segregation, with peaceful villages but also ones run down by terrorists.

And so, to help us better understand the complexity of this land, what if we shrunk the population down to just our class?

because only if we understand, can we ever hope to create a change.

firstly, i want all of you to stand up or sit on a desk.
ill say that remaining standing means you have had enough opportuinities to live a good life or to function well in society.
you are now the entire population of nigeria

I've divided this presenation ino four parts, each onle of them representing a piece of the problem.
edu and careers, because a future of prosperity is held by the children
gov and econ, because a stable country needs a stable leader
teror and violnet, because fearful citizens create a shaken society
and life and health, because theer is nothing more important than preventing lives from being lost.

without further adue, some statis about shool and jobs
12 of kids neven gone to school. out of 25 people, three of you, (points) can sit back down.
half of pop is illiterate... to add on to the prvious amount, 9 more people can sit down.
70 below poverty... again adding on, 5 people sit down.

as of now, 18 out of 25 of you have not had the pportunities to become well educated. But in the real world, this counts for 130.2 million people, not getting the education, careers, and adequate pay, later on, that they need.

This is a dire situation. Ansd even tho its not comepletely hopless, a weak foundation for children and new famillies only creates more problems further down the road/
