Hamlet is depressed and has to come home from school in Germany to his fathers funeral in Denmark. When he gets home is finds out that his mother Gertrude had remarried to his uncle Claudius, his dads brother. Claudius has declared to be the new king despite the fact that Hamlet was to heir the throne. Hamlet has his suspicions on his uncle.
Hamlets fathers ghost visit the castle at night, he complains that he is unable to rest in peace because he was murdered. This is where Hamlets suspicions were confirmed. His fathers ghost says that Claudius poured posion into his ear while he was sleeping. He begs Hamlet to avenge his death, but to spare his mother and let heaven decide her fate.
Hamlet becomes confused and starts to second guess about the ghost, he starts to question if he should really kill his uncle.
Hamlet causes 6 deaths in the play
In the end Hamlets mother dies due to the fact that she drank poision that Claudius had left for Hamlet. Anther character Laertes stabs Hamlet with a posion sword because Hamlet killed his father and sisters. Hamlet then stabs Claudius with the same posioned sword, and forces him to the rest of the poisioned wine.
