I believe Truman made the incorrect choice to drop the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Firstly they said they needed to test it out yet they had already tested it out when they dropped it in the new mexico desert so they already new the terrifying destructive power of the bomb. Many people say that they had no choice as the Japanese wouldn't of surrendered and the death rate would of been more but these people don't include the enormous about of deaths after woods due to the radiation let alone the fact that it would take a long amount of time to renew the land, also new information was found that Japan surrendered after the first bomb was dropped so there was no need for the second one. I believe that there was more peaceful ways of going about it, for example if they had dropped the bomb on a nearby island as a warning shot completely wiping out the island the Japanese would of surrendered in fear.
