1. Seni kontemporer adalah seni yang berkembang dengan dipengaruhi modernisasi. Seni kontemporer bukan seni yang terikat dengan aturan kuno. Di dalam seni rupa Indonesia, istilah kontemporer muncul di awal tahun 70-an. Tokoh yang pertama kali menggunakan istilah ini adalah pak Gregorius Sidharta, ia menggunakan istilah kontemporer sebagai judul pameran seni patungnya pada waktu itu.
2. Seni Carving, yaitu teknik cara mengikis, dan membersihkan bagian bagian patung yang tidak diperlukan yang memiliki dua golongan sesuai keinginan si pembuat patung, di antaranya :
– Stone carving yang terbuat dari batu aardesit, marmer, batu gunung, dll.
– Wood carving yang pembuatannya dari bahan dasar kayu.
