Heart rate is simply the number of heart beats within a given period of time. Generally, heart rate is measured in beats per minute.

However, body temperature varies depending on a number of factors, including the location that the reading is taken, the time of day, and the person's recent activities. For example, your body temperature is likely the lowest about two hours before you wake up in the morning and the highest in the afternoon.
