My presentation is about how people can save rhinos from
Extinction/getting hunted.
Hello my name is Luca throw these sentences I will stop so if you guys want to ask
A question you can interrupt me and ask what a word means.
So let's get into the presentation.
I am trying to save rhinos from Extinction/hunted because I am doing this I sore that there are Five species of rhinos in the world the one I am mostly focusing on is the white
Rhino because there’s one male rhino left in the world and two female rhinos in the world And the two female rhinos are hold captivity In Kenya but they all belong to the Dvůr Králové Zoo in the Czech Republic.
And they are protected by armed guards.
2nd
What is a rhino?
A rhinoceros, often abbreviated to rhino, is one of
only five living species of odd-toed ungulates in the family
Rhinocerotidae. The white rhino, which is actually gray, has a large hump on the neck and a long face. The Asian rhino species is the only species that has two horns. The horns are made of keratin which is also in hair and fingernails.
3rd
How many species of rhino are there? There are five species of rhinos white, black, greater one-horned, Sumatran and Javan.
Millions of years ago, many other species of ancient rhino roamed
the Earth but they are now extinct.
4th
What areas do rhinos live in?: White rhinos and black rhinos live in the grasslands and floodplains of eastern and southern Africa.
Greater one-horned rhinos can be found in the swamps and rainforests of northern India and southern Nepal. Sumatran and Javan rhinos are found only in small areas of Malaysian and Indonesian swamps and rainforests.
5th
Why are rhinos being hunted to extinction? They are becoming rare because they are being hunted for their horns. The horn is mainly used in Asia for traditional medicine and carvings.
The black rhino declined drastically in the 1970s and 1980s due to poaching. To prevent extinction, many rhinos were translocated to fenced sanctuaries in the early 1990s. This effort appears to be succeeding, as 1994 was the first time in 20
years that rhino numbers did not decline.
because that rhino's horns can be used to make perfume and it sells for a big price.
6th
What is being done to prevent their hunting/extinction? People are realizing that rhinos are near extinction and they are creating places for the rhinos to live in a safe environment.
So that is my Presentation
I thank you all for listening to my Presentation
Have a good day.
